PPM Announces Officer Promotions and Claims Staff Addition

New roles for seasoned staff and an addition to claims department.

Overland Park, Kansas – July 12, 2018 – Preferred Physicians Medical (PPM), industry-leading provider of professional liability insurance for anesthesia practices, announced the recent promotions of John Morhiser as PPM’s Vice President-Underwriting and Steve Stark as PPM’s Vice President-Business Development. In addition, Paul Lefebvre recently joined PPM in the position of Senior Claims Attorney.

Mr. Morhiser’s responsibilities include the day-to-day direction of all underwriting and policyholder service activities. Mr. Morhiser joined Preferred Physicians Medical in 1992 and was named Underwriting Supervisor in 1996. Prior to joining PPM, Mr. Morhiser worked with countrywide commercial insurance programs for two large international insurance groups. Mr. Morhiser is a graduate of the University of Missouri College of Business with a degree in Economics.

Mr. Stark’s responsibilities include management of the day-to-day operations of the business development functions including client retention and growing PPM’s policyholder base of highly qualified anesthesia groups. Mr. Stark joined PPM in 1989 as Regional Sales Representative when the Company insured fewer than 200 anesthesiologists and was promoted to National Sales Manager in 2001. Mr. Stark has been a key member in PPM’s growth and success.

As Senior Claims Attorney, Mr. Lefebvre manages moderate and high severity claim and litigation files. Mr. Lefebvre is also involved in PPM’s risk management program, conducting on-site seminars and serving as a resource for policyholders. Mr. Lefebvre is a 2010 graduate of Saint Louis University Law School, where he attained certificates in health law and clinical health care ethics. Prior to joining PPM, Mr. Lefebvre served as General Counsel for the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.
