PPM Conducts 500th Risk Management Seminar
April 13, 2021
Milestone marks continued commitment to patient safety and risk management.
Overland Park, Kansas – April 13, 2021 – Preferred Physicians Medical (PPM), industry leading provider of professional liability insurance for anesthesia practices, announced today that PPM recently conducted its 500th anesthesia-specific risk management seminar for one of its Phoenix, Arizona anesthesia practice groups.
Since 1987, PPM has honed our anesthesia expertise using a substantial database of loss outcomes information based on our investigation of over 16,000 adverse anesthesia events. PPM utilizes this database to identify areas of risk, monitor developing loss trends, and provide practical, anesthesia-specific risk management advice and patient safety strategies to our policyholders and insureds.
"Anesthesia practices are as unique as the patients they serve. While one group may provide an array of anesthesia services for a large health system, others may specialize in obstetrical anesthesiology or practice exclusively at ambulatory surgery centers. Rather than present a generic risk management program, we tailor our seminars to help our anesthesia providers advance patient safety in their specific practice environment," according to Paul Lefebvre, Senior Claims Attorney.
PPM policyholders also have exclusive access to timely and useful risk management resources at MyPPMrrg, including access to Anesthesia & the Law, PPM's risk management newsletter.
