Robert Edwards, MD elected as Chair and Ian Kallmeyer, MD joins PPM Board of Directors.
Overland Park, Kansas – October 5, 2020 – Preferred Physicians Medical (PPM), industry-leading provider of professional liability insurance for anesthesia practices, announced today recent changes to its Board of Directors.
At PPM’s recent Board of Directors Meeting, Dr. Aubrey Maze announced his resignation as Board Chair. Dr. Maze has served on PPM’s Board of Directors since 1988 and was elected Chairman of the Board in 2001. The Board of Directors and employees of PPM expressed their gratitude for his many years of service and for his commitment to PPM’s policyholders.
Robert P. Edwards, MD, was elected as Chair to replace Dr. Maze. Dr. Edwards has been a Director of PPM since 2011. He has served as an Executive Board member and Treasurer of the Utah Society of Anesthesiologists and as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at The University of California at San Francisco.
Also, during the meeting, Ian J. Kallmeyer, MD, was appointed to PPM’s Board of Directors. Dr. Kallmeyer serves as Senior Vice President of Anesthesia for Envision Physician Services and as President of Valley Anesthesiology Consultants, Ltd. Dr. Kallmeyer is a Clinical Associate Professor of Anesthesia at the University of Arizona, a Fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and serves on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Society of Anesthesiologists.
